The snow is melting quickly now. We see grass in spots. And even though it's brown and flattened, if you look closely, you can see bright green sprouts in it.

Lea and her BFF Emma took pictures of themselves the other day. Here's a gem.

My birthday roses - yellow roses are my favorite:)

After the blizzard, Dan, Donny and Debbie dug tunnels in the front yard. They had a spacious cave in there for a day or so...

So Pretty

This is our house today. It's very, very cold, but very, very pretty.

Blizzard - the day after

Wow - the snow was thick and heavy this morning. And so much of it! The driveway and sidewalks were under 2 1/2 or 3 feet of it. This was a LOT of snow, even for Chicago. Pretty cool! All business and school came to a standstill today. Nobody could get anywhere until serious shoveling had occurred. School is cancelled tomorrow because they could not get the school properties cleared of snow in time. Also, the snow ended up in "drifts" after the wind stopped - like sand dunes in a windy desert - we had snow dunes on our front lawn. Amazing!

Blizzard!

We're gearing up for tonight's blizzard :) The kids are VERY hopeful for a snow day tomorrow. Question...how does a 1-foot tall puppy go potty outside in 2 feet of snow? I'll let you know when I find out.
